There are two top 100 players at the start of FIP Rise Dubai, a stage on the CUPRA FIP Tour scheduled in the United Arab Emirates, where padel is growing fast. In the men’s draw, the highest-ranked player is Sergio Icardo (95), paired with Francisco Jurado, while the number 2 seeded players are France’s Jerome Inzerillo and Manuel Vives, ranked 131 and 156 respectively.
Among the women, however, leading the entry list is Lucia Perez Parra (94), paired with Laura Luján Rodríguez (126), followed by Portugal’s Catarina Castro Vilela (141) and France’s Wendy Barsotti (125). On Thursday the first round of a 32-pair draw in the men’s and a 24-pair draw in the women’s (with eight ‘bye’), round of 16 and quarterfinals on Friday, semifinals on Saturday, finals on Sunday.
