In Egypt two tournaments in one

A men’s FIP STAR, a women’s FIP RISE. The CUPRA FIP Tour makes a stop in Egypt, with two tournaments in Il Bosco, a place so close to Il Cairo. In the men’s draw, made up of 32 pairs, many players among the top 100 in the world rankings are on court: the first pair in the seeding is Diego Gil and Ignacio “Nachi” Sager, who defeated (6-2 7-6) in the first round the Spaniard David Fernandez Fernandez and the Swedish David Espknutsson.

Sager, by the way, is looking for his second victory in a row on the tour after the one in Riyadh last week, when he was paired with Sergio Icardo. On the other side of the draw, Raul Marcos and Mohammed Saadon Alkuwari were defeated in the first round by Frenchmen Jerome Inzerillo and Maxime Moreau. At the Javelin Sports Club, however, the women will be also on court, with Egypt’s Iman Metwally and Spain’s Sara Ruiz Soto leading the entry list. The second seeded pair comes from Germany, and is composed by Victoria Kurz and Denise Hoefer.
